1152 thumbs up

The amplifier's differential inputs consist of an inverting input and a non-inverting input and ideally the op-amp amplifies only the difference in voltage between the two. This is called the "differential input voltage." In its most common use, the op-amp's output voltage is controlled by feeding a fraction of the output signal back to the inverting input. You can read the very good article in : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operational_amplifier http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Bill_Bowden/opamp.htm http://web.telia.com/~u85920178/begin/opamp00.htm http://focus.ti.com/lit/an/slod006b/slod006b.pdf (a book of 464 pages on the subject)
